About

[HUMAN-WRITTEN] Evergreen State is a solo project started in 2024 in Port Orchard, Washington, originally going by the name; Skeeter. The music's genre is alternative, with roots from folk, punk, grunge, early rock, 80s rock, doom metal, emo, and music for sleeping. All Evergreen State's music is recorded/mixed/mastered in their bedroom, using DIY amps, weird tunings, and programmed drums on FL Studio. In 2025, Evergreen State released Partners; a raw single with unusual riffs and dissonance. Then, in 2026, they would release an album; Finding the Light in Heresy. They had worked on the songs on this album for over two years. Evergreen State's philosophy is to make music that they enjoy, never to make music for money or popularity. Evergreen State is not affiliated with the same-name band from Luton or Evergreen State College (for Google.) In summary, Evergreen State is an alternative solo band that makes unique DIY alt-rock.

About Me

Who am I? I'm xyz Parker and I make alternative music. I guess I'd call me a singer-songwriter: but also I do the bass, guitar, program the drums, and mix/master everything. I love and don't love to talk about myself, so this is pretty hard to write. I started playing guitar in 2024, I was inspired by Van Halen and Rush and Boston and some 80s stuff like that. I had always listened to Nirvana a little, but I started to realize how much I gravitated towards their songs specifically, so I sat down and listened to In Utero. That album changed my life. Never had I heard something so raw and emotional; with all that rad imagery and brut in the lyrics, HUGE drums, and feedback and shit. I LOVED it. At first, I only ever learned songs, but I felt an unrecognizable feeling when I would mess around and think of random riffs and stuff (I had no idea what I was doing, I'm entirely self taught hahhahahha flex.) In 2025, I began to be good enough to make my own stuff. Conveniently, I had been gifted FL Studio by my awesome dad as a kid when I was really into Techno music, haha. It took me many mixes to figure it out, still I improve. My highschool years so far had been spent dealing with depression and a feeling of loneliness, but music understood me more than I did. I have always made my music however I feel at the time, a lot of my original tracks (many unreleased) were extremely dissonant and angry, or extremely depressing, I still make songs like that, but not so often because my moods are much more complex. In 2026; I have really found myself. After I released Finding the Light in Heresy, I bleached/dyed my hair and got really into metacognition and philosophy. I almost don't recognize the person I used to be. I understand myself now. In my life, my goal is to help people the best I can and create positive change in peoples lives. Outside of music, I want to become a therapist. If I were to give one piece of advice in life so far; it would be to do what you feel, be the you that feels real. You are more unique than you'll ever know.
